Standard 75 gsm hailnet is supplied to 6.5 metres wide and used on pitch roof structures.
The image shown is a customised fabric made for a flat roof structure, combining standard hailnet with a larger mesh allowing release of hail between tree rows.
A new lightweight version of the standard hailnet is now being produced with the fabric draped directly over the crop to provide effective hail protection. With the high cost of constructing structures eliminated, many growers are finding this the most cost effective solution.
“Quad Crossover” netting which can be manufactured in larger mesh sizes which provides widths between 12m and 20m are also being utilised to provide hail protection on flat roof structures.
